HOW TO MAKE A FONDANT COW
In this tutorial I will show you how to make a fondant cow for a farm cake or cupcakes.
ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:
Spray your board with a small amount of Sprink to stop your fondant sticking, knead a ball of black fondant until soft and pliable, roll out and then cut out 4 small circles to form the cow’s hooves.
Roll out white fondant into a rope and cut out 4 lengths approximately 2cm long. Glue on to the black hooves.
Roll out a ball of approximately 20 gms of white fondant and shape into a flattened egg shape and glue onto the legs as per the photos below.
Roll some white fondant into ball and then slightly flatten into an oval. Glue on the 2 eyes (you can make your own eyes using a small ball of white and black fondant if required)
Roll 2 very small balls of pink fondant and squash together with your finger and glue onto the head. Use the sharp end of the modelling tool create 2 nostrils on the cow.
Roll small amount of pink fondant into a thin rope shape and glue under the nostrils to form the mouth. Glue the head to the body. I have used an oval metal cutter to rest the head until the glue has dried to ensure it stays in place.
Cut out 2 small ovals from white fondant and flatten with your finger to form the ears. Roll 2 small balls of brown fondant into a cone shape and slightly bend to form the horns.
Glue the ears and horns onto the cow head. Take 2 tiny pieces of black fondant and roll into a very thin small rope and glue above the eyes to form eyebrows as per the photos below.
Roll some black fondant into a rope shape and glue on the back of the cow for the tail.
Using the small circle cutter cut out a number of black circles, flatten with your finger and glue over the body for the cow’s spots. Allow the cow to dry.
